My real passion for Photography all started in my early Teens whilst my friends and I completely ignored the “Don’t Try This At Home” warning found on those stunt programmes that were shown late at night on MTV. I had been gifted a camera a few years previously when moving all the way from South Africa to South Dublin to capture that journey, so naturally being the only one of the group with access to one I became by default the person to document all the dumb stuff we got up to with aspirations of being mad cool and becoming the Irish answer to Jackass.

Fast forward a few years to when my eldest daughter was born I started documenting her first days and milestones and came to the conclusion that my ultimate destiny lay outside the corporate world I had become accustomed to; that I had the opportunity to turn a passion that I truly enjoyed into my career and have more time for her (and the subsequent additions to our fledgling football team!).

My motivation, what gets me out of the bed in the morning, is the satisfaction I get from being an integral part of the biggest day of a couples journey in love. Being witness to the different ways we all love and appreciate that special someone in our lives and I always take a little something away from each and every day I witness. I love the buzz and excitement of the pre-ceremony, the intimacy of the ceremony itself, working with couples on their portraits and capturing the reception as it unfolds. I’ve laughed with couples. I’ve cried with couples. I went from an Introvert to an Extrovert almost overnight finding something that allowed me to be who I wanted to be. I might be absolutely shattered when I finish up at a wedding but it’s a happy tiredness.
